IB교육을 받은 우리아이들에 대하여 조금 특징적인것을 이야기해 보겠다. 물론 부모로서 객관적이지 않을수 있고, 과학적인 근거는 없지만 나와 남편과는 다르고 우리 부부 이외에는 양육자가 없었으므로, IB를 생애최초 교육으로 받은 아이의 특징은 아마도 교육의 힘이라 믿는다.
밑에 사진을 보면 우리 아이가 한국에서 소위 연산에 관한 문제를 푼것을 볼 수 있다. 한국에서 교육받은 아이들은 하루에 3~4장씩 풀어나간다는데 우리 아이는 아무리 열심히 해도 2장을 넘어가지 못한다. 2장을 하는 시간도 집중을 안할 때에는 1시간이 넘기도 한다. 그 과정에 엄마인 나는 어떻게 아이한테 행동을 할지 모두들 추측할수 있을것이다. '빨리 하고 놀아야지!' '숙제는 하고 다른거 하는거야''야!!!'
하지만, 아이는 아랑곳 하지 않는다. 오랜시간 실랑이 끝에 이번에는 학교 숙제시간. 학기 초라서 각자의 계획을 적고 좋아하는 것을 적어오라고 했나보다. 아까와는 달리 신나게 한다. 아무리 혼이 나도 엄청난 자신감이 넘치는 아이.
내가 어렸을 때에는 나에게 주어진 일을 다 마치지 않으면 큰일날것 같았고, 부모님에게 혼났을 때는 눈치보며 다가갔는데 우리 아이들은 1초면 잊어버린다.
IB교육에서는 다양한 요소를 가지고 전인교육을 한다. 자신의 생각을 중요시 여기고, 자신이 주도가 되어 모든 상황을 판단하고 행동하게끔 교육한다. 학생들 자신이 느끼지는 못하지만 오랜시간동안의 훌륭한 교육효과가 한 사람의 인격을 완성해 나가는 것을 볼때에 IB는 역시 멋지다!
Let me tell you a little bit about our children who are educated IB. Of course, I believe that IB is probably the power of education because it may not be objective as a parent, there is no scientific basis, but it is different from me and my husband and there are no other children beside us.
If you look at the picture below, you can see our child solved the so-called arithmetic problem in Korea. In Korea, children who are educated in Korea are playing three to four cards a day. The time to do the second page is sometimes more than an hour when you don't concentrate. As a mother in the process, everyone can guess how I will behave to her. 'You have to do it quickly!' 'You have to do your homework and do something else!'
However, the child doesn't care. After a long scuffle, this time is homework time. I guess I asked you to write down your plans and what you like because it's early in the semester. It's a bit more exciting than before. The child is so confident no matter how hard he tries.
When I was young, it seemed like a big deal if I didn't finish what I was given to me, and when I was scolded by my parents, I went to my house in a second and I forgot about them.
IB education provides an all-round education with a variety of factors. value one's thoughts and educate oneself to judge and act on every situation IB is also cool when students do not feel it for a long time but see excellent educational effects complete a person's character! |
